Red Rock Arabians purchased *Paarden+ in 1988 after leasing him from Dean and Mary Lou Hindal for one year. He was a dream come true as he encompassed all of the qualities Red Rock Arabians strives for: beauty, conformation, athletic ability, and an excellent disposition.
Born in Zijtaart, Netherlands on May 12, 1979, *Paarden+ was bred by M. Blaauwhof Van Hellenberg Hubar. Bob Stratmore, who also imported *Paarden+'s 7/8ths brother, *Padron, brought him to the United States. Shortly thereafter, Dean and Mary Lou Hindal purchased *Paarden+. He had a short halter career with Brad Gallun of Bethesda Farms, winning various California shows as a yearling. At two, *Paarden+ was put into training with Jerry McRae of O'Mac Stables, who showed him in Open Western Pleasure. Lisa Hindal-Lenzen also showed him in Western Pleasure AOTR. In 1988, Larry and Shirley Ellis purchased *Paarden+; their daughter Ann showed him in Western Pleasure JOTR.
*Paarden+ retired to the breeding barn in 1997. Since he had done very well in the Western Pleasure division, *Paarden+ had accumulated enough points to earn his Legion of Honor. In June 1997, he was presented with the honor at the MAHA Show in St. Paul, Minnesota.
*Paarden+ sired well over 200 purebred and partbred foals, many going on to be regional and national winners, so his spirit truly does live on...
*Paarden+ being presented with his Legion of Honor. Ann Ellis left. Jerry McRae up. And Larry and Shirley Ellis right.
